In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war, David sent Joab out with the king’s men and the whole Israelite army. They destroyed the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. But David remained in Jerusalem.

One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof, he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful, and David sent someone to find out about her. The man said, “She is Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite.” Then David sent messengers to get her. She came to him, and he slept with her ...

2 Samuel 11:1-4 NIV

David wasn’t where he was supposed to be.

He saw something he wasn’t supposed to see.

He did something he wasn’t supposed to do.

He cost many people something they weren’t supposed to lose.

WARRIORS ARE VULNERABLE WHEN …
 They’re overly confident.

So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!  1 Corinthians 10:12 NIV

Why battle a temptation in the future when you have the power to eliminate it today?

They feel entitled.

When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long.  Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat. Psalm 32:3-4 NLT

Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. Psalm 32:5 NLT

YOUR BATTLE PLAN

  1. Confess to God.
  2. Confess to the right people.
  3. Remove the triggers.
  4. Get the necessary help.
  5. Let God heal the wound.
